i have a factory temp gauge that isnt working. i have changed the sending unit because when i grounded the feed wire the needle pegged. This didnt work. I checked for voltage on feed wire and on rear of gaude and had 12volts.Also checked ground straps from frame to firewall and engine to firewall. any ideas would be helpful

if you grounded the sending unit wire and the gauge pegged.. the gauge and wiring does work..

i am taking with it disconnected it came down...

what was the part number of the sending unit you bought...

a wells TU46 with a blade type 1/4 inch connector is for temp lights.. there is no resistance until the temp reaches 245F...

a wells TU5 is a flat top connector where you push the same connector on from the side... no blade.. just a round pin.. pin-|    this has resistance that varies with changes in temp...

please also check that you have a braided ground strap .. that connects from the back of the cylinder heads to the firewall... this is the other side of the circuit..
