Anyone have any info on how to wire these new LED taillights? I just received two new stainless lights and all I get after connecting them is the low stting and no brake lights...

tail light wire to the tail light circuit connector on the led bulb

stop and turn signal wire to the stop and turn signal on the led bulb

ground connection to the LED bulb..

LED tail light and front parking light installs require an LED or electronic turn signal flasher and a LED rated or electronic hazard flasher ..

what brand and part number did you order..

is this what you got??

don't forget..

the tail light and turn signal sockets are grounded thru the reflector..

do you have a LONG set of battery jumper cables.. that are individual?? not paired.

hook up one to the negative side of the battery..   then extend it with the other cable to the back of the truck...     touch the end of that cable to the housing...  see if the turn and stop lights work now...

at least on that side...

Geeze... dude... do they look similar. Usually they all come from one manufacturer. I plan on changing out the flasher and getting some of these to upgrade later. They seem to be a good thing as far as safety goes because I'm sure they're brighter. Did you get them to work. Are you happy with the product?

now that Hotrodace has shamed me...
After hours and days of research... Wayne is right. go figure, a new flasher is needed for the LED lights (which Eckler's conveniently sells for 18.99$

?Cid=Dd08e50930423861&Id=DD08E50930423861%21238&Action=Share#Cid=DD08E50930423861&Id=DD08E50930423861%21241

the lights are similar in that they have the same wiring configuration.. one black ? one red ? and one white? they feed through the housing to a twist lok type receptacle that has only two contact points described by Wayne... I have no documentation on which is what?? no they still don't work .. but my wiring is the culprit at this point after hours under the truk  the harness from the dash to the rear lights is just mangled.

and yes I like them a lot! the housings are polished stainless and the lens looks like a tough plastic that should last.. I DO NOT like the rubber or the wiring that came with the lights.. cheap rubber tore almost with no pressure and the connectors are very flimsy.

mik13usa no harm at all intended. I'm truly sorry. Thanks for the follow up on the tail lights. I just wanted to hear some input about the product and if anyone else had anything to give. Nice job.

none taken Ace  just my sense of humor... I am glad you did post though! It got me to look at what Wayne had already said, about the flasher unit.

Good big window project to work on there. Keep working on her as you can but mostly just enjoy rolling that vintage iron. Yeah ol' Wayne comes up with a good one every now and again. He obviously is a knuckle buster from way back when.
I put the same tail lights on my GMC but to save a few bucks for other needs when I bought them I decided to get them with the incandescent bulb for now. I can get the LED insides to upgrade later so I wanted to hear what you had to say about it. I decided to keep most of the original exterior hardware the same as I think that's where the heritage resides. Keep up the small upgrades as you can and post some pics as you go along. Thanks for the compliment on the intake.
