as everyone else here im always busy and havent been able to find a conversion kit to use that i would feel comfterable using in my 68 f250 2wd pickup my plan is to use a mid 80's to late 90's f350 powerstroke 4wd and use from it as much as possible so any pointers as to mapping out locations for t-case, trans ( and mount brackets/location), engine ( bracket's/mounts for stock location) please let me know im at my wits end on this any pointers, advice, and website links would be helpful
Hey papa.gIn your case I think it would be easier to find and modify a frame to fit the 68 body and is already fitted for the f350 4wd powerstroke components. Never done it but common sense tells me you may have to shorten and box the frame. Fabricate body mounts and probably cut out and modify the 68 firewall. I'm sure you'll spend a ton of time reworking a member to support the coolers up front. If you do pioneer the endeavor be sure to post some picture and pointers here. It would be nice to see that come along.
you will want to check out the archives over at this sister magazine here.http://www.dieselpowermag.com/they live and breath powerstroke motors over there...they have forums just like this also.. and your user name will work there also.. there are actually about a dozen truck magazines on this site...looking at your memberships.. you have found just two... i will take a look around for some articles if you don't find some.. as i think i have seen that swap over there a while back in the archives..
