Have all original F4 Flatbed Need either flathead six or eight with tranny (4spd) or else advice on what to economically re-power with. Just want to cruise the back roads

Scott , don't know your location but flat head engines are often hard to find . There are vendors that sell rebuilt ones but likely they will be expensive . You might consider a later model engine ( i.e. SBC , SBF ) as they are easier to find and cheaper . Motor mounts and transmission mounts can be purchased from many vendors such as Speedway Motors ( www.speedwaymotors.com ) as well as many others .
