I am planning to put a stainless exhaust system into my 57 Chevy pickup. Any pro's or con's on the diameter of the pipe and the type of mufflers you have used? Let me know. Thanks for your information.

exhaust system sizing depends upon what you want first...

anywhere from 2 inch to 4 inch is available..

muffler choice is also an issue.. as you might want to be able to hear when you get out ..

this is my personal opinion..

i have a few friends using mufflers from 92/93 caddy fleetwood brougham with the 5.7 engine.. as they are designed to flow enough in a single muffler for a 350 chevy to breathe quietly.. running them in pairs still keeps it quiet..

some companies offer the 93 version in stainless..   these are both ends offset.. 2 1/2 inch inlet and outlet muffs. 18 inch case.. 23 inch overall ..

the 93s have a neat mini resonator... in 2 inch.. thats almost like putting a cork in the end..  but..

stainless exhaust kits are available at local parts stores and through mail order from flowmaster

this is the 815936 kit..  in stainless..
