hey guys..just bought a 55 2nd big window...that when i pulled off the carpet and fiberglass out of the cab floor i found there wasnt much metal left. so im wondering there is a guy i know whos got some solid 57's and 58's...are the cabs between those years interchangeable? will the fenders from the 55 bolt up to the newer cabs? and i kind of wanna cut the roof off the 55 cab and put it on a solid floor so i can keep the big back window...cause i cant find a full replacement cab any feedback would be appreciated. keep smoking tires!

No references for me to the parts houses. Since it is a big window, god bless you sole, you have struck the lotto. Anyway, I like to save them if possible. I guess the first thing is, HOW BAD IS IT? You can just about get everything for them and the floor pans arn't that hard to replace, then again it will depend on how good you are with the good old mig. As for the guy who fibreglassed the floor, someone aught to glass up you front door so you can't get out of you house EVER. Guys like that should be SHOT for screwing up so many classic trucks, I have seen it far too much. I don't know who started that crap, it certainly wasn't done anywhere in my world. If you don't stop it you will go blind...... you see there is other ways to go blind well maybe even bald...........whoops I don't think it was me.

In answer to your question about the cabs being interchangable, Yes The 55-59 cabs are in the same. the GMC cabs of the same years have a different dash, other than that they'll fit also. I gotta agree with the specialist on people that do mickey-mouse band-aid patchwork. They oughta be fiberglassed up in a straightjacket.
