Hello anyone.
Okay, I've yet to see good photos or an article reguarding this.
Obviously you'll need an aftermarket trans crossmember for a modern transmission application.
But what happens with the old bellhousing mount crossmember?
Do you torch it out or work around it?

On a lowered truck, this member is percariously low to the ground, and a wee bit in the way of how I'd prefer to rout the exhaust. I'll have to occasionally traverse a dirt road.
HOWEVER, I'm very concerned that removing the crossmember would weaken frame rigitidity, esspecialy reguarding the forward cab mounts.

If I recall Industrial chassis had a 'K' member trans mount/frame brace that adressed this well but was discontinued.
Seems the problem was to drop a tranny with that setup required unbolting and lifting the motor.

Anyone have any thoughts, advice? What is the best crossmember to use, anyhow? thanx.
