I have a 51 Chevy Pickup with a 69' 350 in it. It has been sitting for over a year. After recently changing the plugs, oil, cleaning the fuel tank, etc. it is still overheating on me. I changed the thermostat last week and it is still hitting the 240 degree mark. I drained the radiator last night and will refill today. I was thinking of just putting a new radiator in. Does anyone have suggestions on radiators or maybe I am not thinking of something else to check? Thanks!

If you're using the original '51 radiator , that's most likely your problem with overheating !

Are you getting flow through the radiator. Water pump fins can corrode over time while sitting which means you are not pumping water through the system. Is there a fan shroud? The list goes on. Is the system sealed, the list still goes on.Have you checked for a blown head gasket? Do some tests before you go too crazy in changing parts. Open the cap on the radiator when cool, warm up a little till thermostat opens and see whether you have flow. You need to give more info. before you can fully diagnose the problem.

If you do put in a new radiator US Radiators makes some solid ones.
