I looked a a 46 dodge pickup today. I'm looking for a restoration project. The truck looks in real sound condition. No body rust or rot. Everything except the rear bumper is stock.Only one small dent in the left rear fender. The car is part of an estate that is being sold off. The seller wants a $1000.00 What do you think?

If the rust damage is not to bad then that's a good deal. Just to let you know Dodge trucks are usually harder to restore to to the fact that not many people makes parts for them.

Thanks mpayne!! This truck has no rust or rot that I can see. Fenders, door panels, roof, bed side panels and engine hood are not dented, save one small dent in the left rear fender. The paintwork is black and it's faded but that's of no consequence to me. If I do this project I would probably street rod it as opposed to a complete restoration to factory stock. Given the good condition of all the sheetmetal, I'm pretty confident that I would only have to strip the old paint and coat with light bondo in order to block for paint finish. My efforts for parts will likely center on a new drivetrain and engine choice. Thanks for your thoughts. MontanaPaul

Update-Spoke to the seller a few moments ago and he agreed to $800.00 for the '46 Dodge pickup. I think that I made a really good purchase!!
