I thought another slant on a top chop of a pilothouse would be a fun idea. I started this chop about 3 weeks ago and am doing it part time after work. the chop is completed, but will add pics of the process when I can figure out how to add pics to this thread. I took 4 inches out of the rear and 5 1/2 inches out of the front and then cut down the windshield frame another 1 1/2 inches to get the proportions right. I actually used 2 cabs for the chop so I didn't have to add a piece in the center of the roof, I just used another roof and cut it to length. I also used the upper door frames from a spare rusted out set of doors for the same reason. let me know what you think. the 49 project truck is awesome!!! Bud

I also put a 49 Plymouth dash in the truck as I have a soft spot for them, I think they look really nice.

I added pieces to each end of the dash to make the dash blend into the lines on the doors.

decided on putting a dakota frame under the truck instead as the track width of the s-10 is awful narrow for this particular build. Found one today with a 5.4 liter v8 in it for a great price. just gotta start removing the stuff I don't need.....Bud
