I had a 48 Chevy lowered up frt with Plymouth Volarie(Gibbons crossmember-may no be able to get anymore) and lowering blocks on the back.Worked good and cost is not bad if you can find a mid 70's Volarie or Cordoba.

Approx 4" drop in frt/ 5" in back.Drop spindles are an option for the frt. Also check out http://www.chassisengineeringinc.com/.Using a frt subframe from a Camaro is also an option but does require some serious mods.

You must be talking frt axle.A "drop" axle should work and be available.Check with Chassis Engineering.

Yeah, one of my buddies told me you remove the front axle and replace it with a lower one.
