I recently scored by getting a really good deal on a 1972 fleetside with low mileage. It has a three speed shifter on the colum and it keeps getting jammed. I had this problem years ago with the same model only alot higher mileage. I assumed it was because of the miles. I guess we all know what happens when you assume something. Does anyone know how to keep the rods from jamming. It is really not much fun when your on the freeway and you cannot shift gears without getting out of your truck and pulling ont he levers.

HAD A '70 WITH SAME ISSUE,OIL THE AREA ON THE COLUMN WHERE THE TWO LEVERS STICK OUT UNDER THE HOOD. KEEP WORKING THE SHIFTER THRU THE GEARS R-1-2-3 TO WORK THE OIL IN.WITH ALOT OF WORKING IT SHOULD GET SMOOTHER,THEN HAND MASH A BIG SNOT WAD OF GREASE INTO THE SAME AREA TO KEEP IT LUBED. WORKED FOR ME.
