I have recently purchesed a 1970 GMC custom pickup It has an emblom on the hood that says STREET COUPE and has single head lights does anyone know if this was an option or belives that this was changed because it does not match any other trucks that year

If it was an option it's not listed in any of my GMC reference books.
Sounds like you have someone's idea of a customized truck. Post some photos
I'd be curious to see what we are talking about.

Good morning Mr Gilbert, as you can see I have been busy.
  Anyway I have not heard of any GMC with those badges, sounds like someones idea of a joke made up of badges from several vehicles

The info I got says it was in 1978 that the Street coupe was introduced.
