HAVE REPLACED STRAIGHT AXLE WITH INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION & RACK AND PINION STEERINGIN 1956 FORD F100 AND INSTALLED CADILLAC 500 V-8 THE OIL PAN NEEDS TO BE FURTHER TO THE REAR NEED SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHERE I CAN GET OR HAVE ONE BUILT THANK YOU elyot450@sbcglobal.net

Amy good welding shop should be able to cut and rewelled your pan. just make sure the lip is bolted to something solid to avoid worping. But first I would cheek some of the earlier CAD'S they might have a rear sump pan. Junk yard hunt and interchange book you might find one. I put a 390 59motor in a 63 chev car back in the 60's. it seems to me that had a rear sump. That thing was awsome 4speed hydro overdrive. After I wound the speed aumator around and broke the needle I realized it should of had a realy low rear end. I was beating everyone until I spun a bearing in the motor. That was the end of my fun. It sure would have been fun to had a lower rear and take it to the race track.
