I have a 52 chevy 1 ton with a straight axial. i want to lower it and keep the original axial. The springs are on top of it and if I flip it, it will be too low. Any suggestions?

Ok first of all you spell "AXLE". Hey that is a bonus spelling check. Anyway here is some ideas. I am not a real I-beam fan but I can start the ball rolling with some ideas. Depending on how many leafs there are in the spring you may be able to take one out, but this could effect the ride of the truck. Secondly you could change the shackle lengths. Now don't quote me on this because I am trying to remember whether the shackle swings above the cradle or below, this will depend on whether you would lengthen it or shorten. I think wiyhout getting into a long discussion, maybe someone can step in who is a little more clued up on the configuration, or just reply back on the relative info.
