Check it out you guys... It's 4:27AM right now and I can't sleep because I woke up with this really (I hope) cool theme for the May '09 issue. Anyways enough about that, After writing the cover truck story for the February issue, I think I have the answer to this... I'll be back.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at www.lmc.com but the only vin decoding listings thay have are for amreican built trucks canadian truck vin# are not the same as u.s built trucks. The lmc site do not cover any canadan built trucks on there site. It is a great site if you have an american built truck or if you need parts. The 3100 is what it looks like but on the truck I have the box has 8 piller post holes 4 on each side and over load springs and a huge pumpkin and at least 15 inch drums on it the rear axel is huge. It has become almost inpossible to find out about the canadian built trucks. I have had this tuck now for 4 months and there is nothing I have found yet on the net about it. thanks for all you help and input. I hope soon I can know the history of the 55 chevy 1430. Thanks again Chris .inthenorth

OK I know that Ford are the same in US as Canada ,So I don't think Chev will be any diferent. I bet if you checked around you would find that a 55 Chev 1 ton would be the same as your 1430 and all parts should be interchangeable. I have a 3/4 ton 65 Chev and it has a 8 bolt rear that is heaver then a 1/2 ton.

I think your truck is the same as a 3804, which applies to first and second series. I lived in Calgary and have traveled from Prince Rupert, BC to Nova Scotia, and one thing I learned about International, Maple Leaf, Fargo, and Mercury trucks, not to mention the same brand names as US trucks and there's not a lot of info readily available.
