I recently obtained a 1972 F100 with almost 200,000 miles on it. It was garaged continually, therefore it is very clean for its age. 360 2 barrel, automatic, PS, PB. Nice truck. ONLY - the steering is v-e-r-y easy. I mean v--e--r--y easy. So easy, I cannot feel the road. There is absolutely no tension at all in turns.
I was told the steering sector was replaced with one out of another vehicle, I think a car. I don't know which vehicle or car.
My question: Is this a problem with the steering sector or is it a power steering pump problem? (maybe too much pressure?) Has anybody had any difficulty as this? I hope somebody can give me a little info.
Thanks, Wayne
