I don't know what that guy is smoking but I sure don't want none of it! An S-10 chassis would be an ideal choice for that job. Someone take that guy's tools away from him QUICK!

Hey Lewis K! I'm glad you saw the humor in my post, but many a people have screwed up a good truck with a bad idea because someone didn't take their tools away from them. I've seen it more than once. Just makes me cringe to see that stuff. They get in the middle of the project and realize that they're in trouble, then they have to find someone to try and make chicken salad out of chicken ****. I know from firsthand ezperience, I've saved more than a few projects from the crusher. I guess that's why I build stuff for people, I like a good challenge from time to time.

Yea, I have heard stories of people trying to do things without really thinking it through or knowing how to do it and it turns out horrible.

The bed sides from my 53 shortbed stepside are missing the mounting flanges. Can anyone tell me how high off the bottom flange to mount new pieces? Also, what are the dimensions of the cross bed supports # 2 & 3 (Hoe high from the frame. Thanks Phil
