My Dodge Deora replica!

Hi, This is my first post on this forum, so hello! I have several project vehicles on the go, but one is a very special build. I'm constructing a replica of the ORIGINAL Dodge Deora, the one designed by Harry Bradley, and built by the Alexander Brothers in Detroit. It's been a lot of work so far, and I have a whole lot left to go! Take a look at what I'm up to here: Go to hotrodders.com, look under journals, for "Magnumcharger".

Hey I checked out your Deora project, cool deal, in fact hotrodders.com is a pretty good website. I'll have to save it as favorite and check it out some more. In particular I was interested in the expose on the Power TV scam. These are strange times we are living in when a person has to worry about these kind of problems. On the bright side of things it gives me hope for a continuing place in the market for magazines as a trusted source.
Sorry if this was kind of choppy, I'm trying to eat Buffalo wings and type.

Okay, I'm done with my chicken wing lunch. I went back to hotrodders.com and delved beyond the home projects and spent more than the first few seconds I had formed my opinion about the Power TV end of it. Beyond there was a lot of smack talked about SEMA, and folks that I know to be good people —Corky Coker for one.
There's a lot more behind this website than meets the eye. With a such a slick presentation I have a hard time believing that its just of a bunch of hot-rodders having some fun building their projects. There's a dark underbelly with some kind of sleazy anti-car agenda at work here.
Without SEMA none of us would be able to enjoy our gearhead lifestyle. Don't take my word for it, log onto www.semasan.com and judge for yourself who has our best interests at heart.

I don't know how you missed it Lewis, it is right on the home page regarding Power TV... read on and you will get to the SEMA part of it. The operative word here is "read."

I just think that it's amazing that such a wild car could come from one of the big three. You just don't see that kind of custom creativity from manufacturers these days. Even todays concept cars are cookie cutter.

Oh and as far as the SEMA thing goes, in my book it is not cool to rag on an organization that has every truck owner and rodder's best interest in mind.

I'm following the design suggested by Harry Bentley Bradley for the miniature Hot wheels Redline toy car, rather than an exact replica of the Alexander Brothers interpretation, although much of the details will be exactly the same. Mine will be painted in a simulated "Spectraflame" lime green, known as "anti-freeze" to the Hot wheels community. ----------- albertjames Used Cars

i actually own the original deora car show display sign, that was showed with the car.it was given to me by al davis jr.his father left him the car.he came into our sign shop looking for a new sign to be displayed with a custom car.when he told us what he owned all of our jaws dropped.turns out he lives 3 miles from me and the deora has been sitting in a garage for the past 30 yrs.he was doin some resto work on the car when he came to us,we designed the new sign for him an he didnt want the old one, needless to say i took it!now when i say sign i dont mean a picture display,i mean a full wooden 60 lbs display thats shaped like the deora, with all the credits to the builders of the car, very cool!sad to say that he has since sold the car after a stay at the peterson in cali, where i finally had the chance to see it in person and got some good pictures of it.i heard he traded it for some cash and a street rod of somesorts an possibly another car,,what a waste to get rid of a one of a kind car that your father owned for all those years!

That's what is wrong with todays youth, no sentimentel value or appreciation for specialty vehicles. The other car was probably some foreign S###box piece of junk. What did the DEORA look like after all those years. Conditionwise, ratty or potential for restoration?
