John, Most of the guys that come to my farm had been looking for a truck for years. I have made alot of guys happy when they see how many 1967-72 chevy/gmc trucks I have. But then again I have been hunting while most other guys have been checking the local newspaper on sunday and the local trader rag once a week, hoping to trip over one. These trucks used to be everywhere, right? Now that you want one they seem to have disappeared. I am sure your readers would tell you their story on how they found their truck. I won't give away all my angles, but a couple of things I have always done have found me alot of trucks. Try to talk to the guys who own these trucks, but not the guy with the trailer queen show truck. You see the make and model parked in a parking lot, wait and talk you him or leave a note or card. If he doesn't want to sell it he probably knows another owner who does and he must know where to get parts, it's sort of a loose club. 9 out of 10 times owners are proud of their trucks and are glad to give out information. Also, best in the spring, the high school parking lot. Alot of times grampas old truck is the grandsons first ride, but he really wants a honda of course. For the serious hunter, schedule some time to scout all the rural roads in your area, I am up to a 75 mile radius now. Just some thoughts for you on a cold day. Dean

Hi Dean,
We're still on for doing a story about your C-10 Farm, this recent information would be a good angle on the story about how you amassed so-many trucks. As soon as I kill off a few nightmares I'll get in touch, and we can get the ball rolling, and thanks a lot for hanging in!

That farm sounds pretty cool. When is the story expected to be in the magazine?

It does not look good. John has not gotten back to me yet. Go to flickr site; TNCHEV.com and look around, click on "truckfarm". I am up to 63 in the herd now. A story would probably have made me to busy anyway. Oh well! Dean at tnchev@yahoo.com
