How many of you Buy CCT at Wal-Mart? If not where?

I found out in my editorial meeting today that CCT has a 41-percent sell-through at Wal-Mart, and 40-percent at the bookstores. Those kind of numbers are off the chart. I'm really curious to know who subscribes, and who buys CCT off the newsstand. I know sometimes someone will tell me they buy CCT at a little hole-in-the-wall Mom and Pop store in the middle of nowhere, I love hearing that kind of stuff.

Thanks you guys,

I don't ever have to buy them, they come to the office directly and hot off the press

Yeah okay Lewis, we get the point you work for the company so you get the magazine for free.

Obviously you are a much shrewder negotiater than I am, because all I get is what is known as an editor's discount.

The next time my contract is up, I want you to rep for me at the table, so I can get free copies of CCT.

Gee Ed, and Lewis, this is real swell — Now the general public knows if they want to take a massive cut in pay they can come to work here, and get their magazines for free.

Oh well, to anybody that buys their magazines at Wal-Mart this is a personal thank you because Custom Classic Trucks is kicking the crap out of Automobile magazine on Wal-Mart's newsstands. I gotta tell you that I was just flat-out amazed, because Automobile is a major magazine with real writers, real photographers, and those guys can tell you at the drop of a hat which new Volvo comes with a built-in Butt-Warmer or if the car in their 4-page gatefold ad. is worth buying or not.

Anyways, thanks again!

rodder 135,

Email me your address at john.gilbert@sourceinterlink.com and I'll mail you a copy.

As a rule most Wal-Marts carry CCT, but that figure of 41-percent sell-through means it sells out pretty fast. Early in the month you can have Wal-Mart order more copies. This is true for bookstores like Borders as well.

Which truck is yours?

Thanks,

John G.

Cool truck Will, I'll mail it out first thing tomorrow. While we're talking, what kind of stuff are you building? Maybe we can shoot some of it for CCT. Either Cody or I, will be back in Carlisle for 2008, trying to shoot as many trucks as we can.
