I have a 1950 Ford F1 truck with a decent body and original v8 flathead motor that has not been started since the early 1980s. Truck is complete. My grandfather gave it to me a couple years ago and was the original owner. Im going to take it to an antique swamp meet but dont know how much to ask for any ideas? Thanks!!!

Where in California are you? It sounds like your Grandfather's F-1 should be in Custom Classic Trucks as a barn-find.
I'd like to photograph and do a story on it before you sell it. lWhile I'm there I'll appraise the F-1 for you.
Email me at john.gilbert@sourceinterlink.com
Thanks,
John G.

Hi John Im out of San Bernardino County, Fontana. Ithink its cool you would even think about doing something like that because every classic has a story. I know it sounds like a shame for me to even sell it but if not it would probably get alot rust or cancer. My grandpa is 87 and healthy he would drive the truck with my dad which is 53 then was a kid, Im 27 yrs .Thanks for intrest !!!!

Hi Ray,
Your 30-minutes from my office. Here's my email address, get a hold of me and I'll cruise out and shoot the truck, etc.

Hey Lewis, you want to run out there with me when I go? It would sure help to be able to use the car-pool lane. I'll bill the web people for our steak and lobster lunch.

Okay, when I hear back we'll pile into the '79 and roll out to Fontana... Ed can go, but he'll have to ride in the bed, my truck has bucket seats. We'll shoot the whole deal and run the additonal photos that I don't use in CCT on here.
Later,

Okay great, but he'll have to fight my dog for his truck blanket if he wants something comfortable to sit on.
I know I wouldn't to fight that dog.

Well Lewis, and Ed. I guess our trip to Fontana is off. I haven't heard back from Ray, so I'm hoping he came to his senses and isn't going to sell his Grandpa's F-1. Hopefully we'll hear back from Ray, and he's fixing the truck up. I'd sure hate to hear he sold it, and bought some trendy import with the money. One thing is for sure, If he did, it won't be around to give to his Grandson.
I'll find another excuse for us to load up on lobster...
