Hi you guys, I'm CCT's new editor. Cody Wentz from Super Chevy is CCT's new associate editor. We'll be on here as much as possible. Let us know when you all get the September issue, that's our first one. The newsstand edition availible at Wal-Mart and some other stores. It has a kick-ass neon orange logo, please check it out. We just shipped October to the printer and I'm hammering out parts of November today (Sunday August 13th). I'm drivng to Spokane to cover the Good-Guys show next weekend, I hope some of you can make it. Last weekend I was at the Carlisle All Truck Nats, the coverage will be in the November issue, plus there will be a bunch of extra photos here on our website. Talk to you all later, take care.

Muskrat,
Somewhere in computer Hell, there's a lengthy reply I just wrote to thank you for the welcome. When I get to work I'll have to ask Nick what I did to have the thing vanish.
Anyways, long-story-short, CCT's staff and I are all looking forward to seeing what kind of reception the new issue gets. We had two-weeks to put the September issue together, so we didn't make all the changes we wanted to. In fact it will take several issues before we have it dialed-in.
Don't worry about the low-buck stuff, we're going after it. Also you guys can look forward to some Ford and Dodge tech as well.
Well, I hafta go up to the office and knock out the November issue.
Thanks again,
John

Hey Burt,
Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing what Cody can do as well. I came on board two-weeks into the September issue's production schedule. Cody came on in the last few days, but he was able to crank out about five-pages.
Starting with the cover photography, our October issue has a lot more of Cody's work in it. We're calling the October issue our controversial cover.
Thanks for the input... Talk to you later,
John

LowCrewzer,
All I can tell you about the October issue's cover, is they are quite BIG and there might and be some people that will freak out... And there's a cool Dodge inside... No, wait, the Dodge is in the November issue.
I drove my Dodge pickup down to the Donut Derelicts in Huntington Beach, this morning. I can't wait to get started on it. I located a Dodge dealer in Glendora, Ca. through an advertisment in our sister publication Mopar Muscle that specializes in high-performance goodies. I'm gonna call them on Tuesday and see what they have for the D-100.
I plan on running Ford, Chevy, and Dodge tech in each issue, we'll see how it works out.
Hope all is well, talk to you later,
John

Hmmmmmmm. I'll bet I know what you're talking about, and it ain't 28" wheels. Sounds like your cover might be inspired by some of the covers from Sport Truck or Tailgatin'?? That ought to get a few comments from your readers!
Let me know what I can do to help you with your Dodge, or ideas for your tech section. I think your going to run into a lot of brick walls looking for aftermarket parts - starting with the Dodge dealer. Other than the Li'l Red Truck or the Cummins trucks, '72-'93 is the completely forgotten generation of Dodge trucks.
Good Luck! I can't wait to see the changes.

It could be a BIG set of wheels... I'm not saying.
I've already run into sort of a snag with the Dodge. I haven't located anyone with drop-spindles for it. I'm leaving for Air-Ride Technologies' Street Challenge tomorrow, and I'm hoping they can offer some solutions. Right off the top of my head, it looks like a pair of ShockWaves will bolt into place up front. Maybe a 4-link with bags on the rear. we'll see.
When I get back from Indiana on Thursday, I'll try finding more parts.
I'll talk to you then, thanks,
John

OK, so you had me thinking you were going to change your format with your hint about the October cover. Especially after the Grilles Gone Wild pictorial (I mean "tech feature").
You're right - those are BIG!

Hey Low-Crewzer,
Yeah, I couldn't resist stirring the pot up a little bit. Although, we really were calling October our controversial cover. We'll see if anyone freaks out over the twenty-twos.
Did the PDF with your '81 on the cover make it through okay?
I have to get back on the December issue, talk to you later,
John
PS: The Dodge goes for Line-X next Wednesday, it will be in the December issue.

Hi John -
I did get the PDF - thanks!
I've got a question (concern?) that you may want to re-direct to your subscription people. I JUST received my Sept. issue in the mail yesterday, weeks after I bought one on the newsstand. Plus, it's kind of anti-climatic to get last month's issue well after you previewed the October issue on the web-site. Should it take that long to get a magazine in the mail? The suspense is going to kill me if I have to wait that long for the premier of the "awesome Dodge" you're featuring in the November issue!! Luckily I know I'm getting a stack of Nov. issues from you. Any chance you can send me a PDF of the feature so I don't have to go to all the trouble of cutting up a magazine and scanning it?
How's it coming with your project(s)? Is your '86 hopping on air-ride yet?? I can't wait to see some intense tech on that truck.
Thanks... Mark

Hey Mark,
I'm guessing that you just subscribed. It takes an issue or two before your sub will kick-in. I know that regular subcribers see the new issues about two-weeks before they hit the newsstand.
I only have PDFs for the covers because we kick (email) them around until they have passed all the levels of approval. I don't have access to PDF page layouts. The November issue hits the stands 10/24/06 subscribers will start seeing it early Oct. I'll send you some as soon as I get my early copies.
I haven't touched the suspension yet, but it is going on air-ride. I was really impressed with how well Air Ride Technologies setups work... As in great handling. The December issue has Air Ride's Street Challenge in it, you'll see what I mean.
Gotta go, take care man,
John
