Hi, I'm seeking the owner of the Ford F-1 in the main LA Roadster Show picture of trucks lined up side-by-side. The truck is second from right, and I want to find out the color. We just purchased a 1942 International and have to come up with a color choice - that's the one we both agree on! Dark copper with a gold sheen. The Editor of Custom Classic Trucks just emailed me back and said unless I know the owners name they cannot answer me - so here I am! Can anyone out there help? Anne & Mike, White Rock BC Canada

Anne & Mike,
Another thought for you, which my painter suggested for me, was to pick a new car color instead of trying to match the color in a picture. This way if the car is ever scratched, or damaged, then any competent car repair place can fix it since the color is easily available and can be matched perfectly. I thought this was an excellent suggestion on his part and wanted to pass it on.
If you are a fan of the show Trucks they used a copper paint that was really nice. If you go to the website staceydavid.com and go to projects, there is a picture there of the truck he did called copperhead. He also gives the PPG codes for the color somewhere on his site. The truck looked better in person then in these pictures.

Anne & Mike,
Here's my exact words to you.
"Without knowing the owner of that Ford F-1 there's no way knowing exactly what that color is. But you can find something very close to it by checking out color charts at your local automotive paint store or going onto the internet. Start with House Of Kolor, PPG Vibrance, Dupont, etc. Good Luck", I don't know how I could have made it any clearer to you that CCT has no idea who the guy is that owns that F-1 or how we could get a hold of him. I guess your post is the thanks I get for taking the time to try and help you.
Not to sound mean, but if you are having this much trouble picking out a color, just wait until you try find parts for a '42 International.

Hello John. Just home from work and checked replies - I am so sorry. I had absolutely no intention of dissin' you or CCT in any way. Obviously I worded my post wrong, and it was taken in the wrong context. I did start it off by saying I was seeking the owner of that truck, but all I meant by the last paragraph was that you had responded to me, but could not help unless I could find that owner. I was very happy for a response at all! I feel rotten, but I'm sure you're glad about that. I am not making a big deal out of finding that color, I simply liked it and thought I would pursue trying to find out the information, seeing as there about a million choices out there. Simple as that. Please accept my humblest apologies. Anne
